Quarantine and Isolation Calculator
It is important to protect others by using health practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Use the Quarantine and Isolation Calculators below to determine how long you should remain separated from others until your quarantine or isolation period is complete.
Isolation – to keep someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 away from others, even in their own home.
Quarantine – to stay away from others when you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
For more information regarding quarantine and/or isolation, visit the CDC website.
You have tested positive:

General Public
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, you must isolate for at least 5 days after the start of your symptoms (or after the date of the first positive test if no symptoms). To discontinue isolation, your symptoms must have resolved or are resolving and retesting* on Day 5 or later produces a negative result.
If you continue to test positive or choose to forego retesting on Day 5, you must isolate for 10 days from the start of your symptoms or from the date of your first positive test result. Isolation can end on Day 10 if symptoms have resolved or are resolving and you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Isolation should be continued beyond 10 days if fever persists or symptoms are not resolving.
Per CDPH, if you have tested positive, masking in the indoor setting is recommended for a total of 10 days (even after testing negative on Day 5 of isolation).

If your symptoms have improved and 24 hours have elapsed without a fever without the use of medication, your last FULL day of isolation is: {last-date}
Your isolation ENDS on: {end-date}
On this date, you may resume your usual activities but should still take precautions to reduce your risk (i.e. social distancing, frequent handwashing, and wearing a mask when social distancing isn’t possible).
Quarantine of close contacts is no longer recommended for the general public, regardless of vaccination status.
If you have been identified and informed of being a close contact to a positive case, be aware to the development of symptoms. If you develop symptoms, begin isolation and get a COVID-19 test as soon as possible.
